Helpful Tips from our Angel Parents on working through Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Sharron P: "rescue remedy by Bachs, its a natural flower remedy, works for me x"
Jessica C: "..I have anxiety & some types of panic attacks, ive had it for like 6yrs, counseling, good support & someone to call when you get them helps.. deep breathing & meds don't work for me, but talking it out to someone helps, i get the attacks out in public when im alone and i freeze on the spot and have to get someone to come and get me or talk to me on the phone until i get back home, its terrible it sucks for everyone who has it"
Chastity R: "...I am on medication for mine. I started having anxiety and panic attacks when my baby boy Lenny died and suffered through it for 5 months before getting some help. The meds have helped but it does still happen sometimes and I just breathe try and distract myself and try to avoid any possible triggers It sooo sucks when it strikes tho."
Mary N W: "..Attacks can also be brought on by certain foods. If you are suffering try cutting out caffeine from your diet. No coffee, tea, and also cut out chocolate."
Kristie H R: "Wow...seems like lots of angel mommy's have panic attacks...including myself. I tried couseling and it didn't help. I go thru phases when I don't have them at all. But, like the past 2 weeks I've been getting them every day. Deep breathing and positive talk to yourself helps. Let yourself have the panic attack and try not to be afaid of it! Easier said than done....I've been doing audio cd's and that's what they say!"
Sheena S: "....I also have medication for mine.. I find some relaxing on my own time, deep breathing and sometimes even counting cab help me.. It's such a horrible feeling!! Xoxo "
Natalie R: "..I focus and then start to breathe deep from my gut, inhale and exhale it works and i dont care where I am I do it. when i feel overwhelmed or about to have a panic attack , controlled breathing worked for me"
Jade B: "I try and calm myself but going some where quiet by myself and if that does not work i have vallium prescribed from the doctor"
Vicki B: "I am on medication for mine, but also breathing exercises help, cut out caffeine, rescue remedy, hot bath, sleep ..."
Crystal A: "I to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety deep breathing techniques help u can do yoga or u can take medication that takes away the attacks"
Louise T: "A paper bag helps when you feel one starting hun and deep breathing hun xx"
Victoria D: "I dont think there really is a way to control them, than deep breathing, and trying to focus your energy one something else.... When I start to get bad anxiety when I start thinking of Konur, I take a couple of deep breaths, give myself a few min to think, and cry if need be, than try to focus my energy on something else..... if it is really bad medication may be another option."
Harmony L: "yoga and deep breathing"
Caroline B: "I use Xanax!!! also a good girls night in or out helps"

PTSD is no small thing when considering that epidural &/or spinal blocks are a big trauma on the nervous system; then add in post partum hormones; then add in the stress & grief of baby burials (we buried Abigail in 2003 then buried Anne in 2005). I may as well have gone to Iraq for all my mind & body has been through! And I'm sorry, but counselling doesn't help beyond giving someone to talk to; and frankly, meds are often terribly inadequate as well."
